You know what I hate about football?

So, yeah, I know a lot of people that are crazy about football. Thoughts of Gators, Cougars, Seahawks, and other teams cause their minds to stray from important things such as car-maintenance, playing video games, and essay-writing. But me? No, I am not carried away in the confusion of touchdowns, kick-offs, and free kicks. I am much too annoyed by one simple word, a word that every football announcer uses every game. That word is... blitz. “Wow! What a blitz! Did you see #123 blitz past #456, Tom?!” Jeremy Sergeant says – much too enthusiastically – to his partner-in-crime. “Yes, I did Jeremy. That was fantastic! Before #456 could blink an eye, #123 just blitzed past him!” Tom Roman says just as enthusiastically as Jeremy. Blitz, blitzed, blitzing! Here is the (football) meaning of blitz: Act or instance of charging directly for (the passer) as soon as the ball is snapped. To charge directly and immediately at the passer. Did you know that blitz is a shortening of blitzkrieg?
